    Personalization is the difference between fostering a relationship and a lot of wasted effort. Keeping track of links – the currency of the web – by monitoring backlinks and tracking linking activity, BuzzStream promotes successful outreach.

    Adding links with BuzzStream is a synch through its built in bookmark. Once a link is bookmarked, BuzzStream automatically searches the domain for the contact information and captures it. It then begins tracking the conversations you have with these contacts. It doesn’t matter if you contact them through Twitter, email, or blogs – it tracks it all with next to no additional effort.  You can also note why these individuals are relevant, and organize your links by category, keywords within links, and more. Also, being able to delegate work to different team members and displaying page rank details are great additional features.

    Negative:
    PR professional want to spend their time generating the most possible buzz, fostering relationships, and thinking creatively for their clients; clients want to see what their consultant has done for them lately. For PR professionals, creating metric reports can be a significant undertaking, and any help doing so is wonderful. BuzzStream helps the PR professional generate the buzz efficiently; however, the service could do more to show results by including detailed analytics.

    Conclusion:
    As with any web 2.0 tool, BuzzStream is only as good as the person behind the keyboard.  BuzzStream makes it easy to update and track contacts, but success will depend on your dedication to adding links to BuzzStream as you come across them, as well as your strength as a communicator when conducting outreach. Overall, BuzzStream is a great tool for link building, and when used properly, operates as a powerful social CRM.
